The title of the artwork captures the mystery of the foxes as they move through the meadow at dusk, blending into the shadows with grace and quiet observation. The fox, steeped in myth and legend, has long symbolised cunning, magic, and mystery across cultures. Its intelligence and elusive nature make it a captivating figure in folklore, fiction, and fairytales, outwitting predators and hunters with its agility and shrewdness.

This pyrography artwork portrays two foxes that visit the meadow bordering the farm each evening at dusk. Framed by rustling trees and backlit by the fading light, their alert ears catch the faintest sounds, while their vigilant eyes constantly scan for any hint of danger. In their brief pause, they exude intelligence and hold untold secrets before silently slipping back into the wild.

These foxes seem to exist between worlds, always ready to spring into action or vanish into nature’s hidden realms. The viewer is invited to experience this moment of stillness, to feel the fox’s hypnotic gaze and poise.

The dandelion in the bottom left of the artwork symbolises the fox’s life. Like dandelion seeds carried by the wind, the fox embarks on an unpredictable journey, guided by instinct and nature’s rhythms. Despite its cleverness and strength, the fox’s existence is fragile, subject to forces beyond its control, much like seeds swept away by an unseen breeze. It embodies resilience, freedom, and the beauty of life’s impermanence, embracing both new beginnings and inevitable endings.

This artwork celebrates not only nature’s beauty but also the allure of one of its most captivating and mystical creatures.
